Samuel A. Maggi, of Moon Township, passed peacefully at home on September 11, 2024. Samuel was preceded in death by his wife Lillian (Zuklich); son of Ambrose and Rose (Marracino); brother of Luke (Rose) Maggi, Esther (Armo) Bolea, Florence Maggi, Nancy (Robert) Calhoon, and Anna (Richard) Spezialetti; father of Samuel (Micca) Maggi, Michael Maggi, Thomas Maggi (deceased), Tina (Bill) Petro, Carolyn Maggi, and Joseph (Sandy) Maggi; grandfather of Katrina (Christian) Cooper, Thomas Maggi, Cody (Abbey) Petro, Rachel Petro, Nathan Maggi, and Lydia Maggi; great- grandfather of Cora and Penn Copper.
Sam was an avid golfer and bowler, a spectator of all sports, and admirable outdoorsman. He served in the U.S. Navy in his youth, traveling the world aboard a ship, and was a WWII Veteran. Sam was an accomplished structural draftsman for Dravo Corp. A tireless handyman, Sam could be often found working in his yard on a variety of projects. He was an esteemed member of St. Joseph Church and the Knights of Columbus. Persistent and reliable to a fault, there was never a favor too great for him to oblige, especially when it came to family. There was nothing more important to him than his family; he loved them all so much. His legacy will live on in the virtues he instilled in his children and grandchildren. Rest in peace Dad.
Family and friends will be welcomed on Thursday, September 19th, from 4-7 PM in the Sanvito Funeral Home, 1316 4th Ave., Coraopolis. A prayer service will take place in the funeral home on Friday morning at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
