Robert Otto Obituary

Robert Otto, of Baldwin, passed away peacefully at his home on the evening of January 27, 2021.  A longtime resident of Baldwin Borough, Bob was born on July 2, 1936 to the late Herman and Adelaide Otto; he spent two years in the Army stationed in Alaska.  Bob was a life long baseball coach in the community and well respected by his friends and neighbors.  He was an avid golfer who enjoyed the sport well into his retirement years with his brother, children and grandchildren.  Bob was a union insulator with Local #2 for 30 years and after his retirement continued to enjoy working part-time for his sons IT company.  He especially loved spending time with all of his grandchildren, and would always be up for going to the flea market and of course having a cold beer or more!  He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Sylvia (Whentz); sister, Marilyn Otto Mula; twin brother, Richard; along with his four children, Robert (Anna Marie), James (Donna), Daniel (Suzanne) and Pam (Dan) Molinaro, all of Pittsburgh. Bob is also survived by his seven granddaughters, four grandsons, two great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him very much.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters and his beloved grandson, Christopher.  He is going to be missed by many.

A Mass of Christian Burial for family and friends will be held at Nativity Catholic Church, Our Lady of Hope Parish on Saturday at 11am.  Private Interment will be held at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with Military Honors.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the staff at Pilgrimage Hospice who helped with great care of Bob during his final days at home.

The family would appreciate any donations be made to the I Love You More/The Michael Trella Foundation in memory of Robert Otto.
