Rita M. Feeny

Rita M. Feeny, born on July 6, 1935, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, passed away on April 8, 2024. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, James Edward, her sons John Allen and Joseph Terrance, her parents, Anthony and Roselin Birgel, and brother Robert (Eileen) Birgel.

Rita dedicated her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at Ohio Valley Hospital. Her compassion and kindness touched countless lives, and she always saw the true essence of a person beyond their outward appearance. Rita’s unwavering faith and commitment to her family were the cornerstones of her life.

She was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and actively participated in the Christian Mothers group. Rita’s legacy lives on through her surviving family members: daughter Maripat, son Kevin James, son Michael Anthony (Denise), son Paul David (Debbie McWhorter), son Thomas Gerard (Kim), five grandchildren, Heather (Josiah), Benjamin (Cris), Elizabeth (Dustin), Kaden, Megan and her two great grandchildren, A.J. and Andrew.

Rita’s impact extended far beyond her immediate family. Her genuine love, empathy, and unwavering faith will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family and friends will be welcomed on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the Sanvito Funeral Home, 1316 4th Ave., Coraopolis.  A Prayer Service will take place in the funeral home on Friday morning at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis.  Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Moon Township.
