We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Anthony J. Sanvito, Inc. Funeral Homes
Mary E. Casciato, also known by many as NaNa passed away on January 11, 2022, at the age of 94. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing. Mary was the loving and dedicated mother of four, grandmother to seven and great- grandmother to fifteen children.
She is survived by her adoring children, Tony Casciato (Diane), Andrea Hufnagle (Robert), Janet Casciato, Lorraine Fulmer (Mark) and grandchildren, Scott Casciato, Leslie Casciato (Carlos), Bryan Hufnagle (Shantae), Ashley MacDonald (Sean), Brittany Todd, Brandon Fulmer, and Evan Fulmer.
Mary had a wonderful way of making everyone feel like family. She enjoyed telling stories of her childhood growing up in Shinnston, West Virginia, the oldest sister of eleven. She would tell of how she met her adoring late husband, Victor A. Casciato and their life together. She enjoyed cooking and baking for those she loved. She was famous for her large family meals – where everyone would crowd around the kitchen. Sunday spaghetti was a family favorite – usually made with homemade noodles. The noodles would be strewn all over the tiny kitchen to dry – flour everywhere. More importantly, love was everywhere and you could feel it.
Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She would light up sharing stories of their talents and accomplishments. She was so very proud of her family and her family will forever be proud of her – the best NaNa. Mary will be deeply missed.
Funeral Services are private. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Township.
