Margaret Jean (Gaita) Balobeck

Margaret Jean Balobeck (Gaita) of Moon Township was called to the Lord on March 28, 2022.  She was born October 25,1946 in Mckees Rocks, PA.  Margaret is preceded in death by her mother, Jean Trombetta Hodgkiss and sister, Marianne Caristo.  She is the mother of two daughters, Laura Konecsni and Jessica Kohler.  Margaret’s greatest joy was her six grandchildren Jake, Luke, Hayden, Abigail, Benjamin and Andrew.

After many years working in the insurance industry and always being interested in medicine, Margaret went back to school to study Nuclear Medicine.  After graduating with straight A’s she went on to become a traveling Nuclear Medicine Tech and checked a lot off of her bucket list by working all over the country. She made sure to always include her family in her adventures, whether it was riding a train to the Grand Canyon or taking a hot air balloon ride. She lived on the beach on both coasts, spent time in Arizona and Florida making friends in each city along the way and finally took a permanent job in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  She always said that if she had been able to go to school earlier in her life she would have wanted to be a pathologist and was fascinated by surgeries she was able to observe while in school.

While in Oklahoma she became involved in her church and eventually became a Stephen Minister to counsel those who are grieving.  She dedicated her life to the Lord and was happy to share her spirituality even when she was in assisted living. 

 Family and friends will be welcomed on Wednesday from 2-4pm & 6-8pm in the Sanvito Funeral Home, 1316 4th Ave., Coraopolis.  A Blessing Service will take place on Thursday morning at 10am in the funeral home.  Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
