Leonarda Antonelli Dudash of Kennedy Twp. passed peacefully to eternal life on Friday, September 8th at noon, eleven days before her 95th birthday. Predeceased by her beloved and devoted husband George Dudash Jr. and her parents Nick and Isabelle Antonelli. Survived by her sons Nicholas Dudash (wife Thelma Redick) and George Dudash III
Leonarda was a graduate of McKees Rocks High School and the University of Pittsburgh. She was a gym teacher for the McKees Rocks School District until the birth of her sons. She later returned to teaching gym at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and Mt. Assisi Academy before accepting a position teaching biology at the newly formed Sto-Rox School District. She retired in 1984 after 30 years of service as an educator.
After retirement, with George by her side, she kept busy as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, working in her numerous gardens, and traveling extensively here and abroad.
Friends received at the Sanvito Funeral Home, 1650 Broadway, on Thursday September 14 from 2pm - 8pm. Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary’s Help of Christian Church on Friday, September 15 at 10am. Interment at St. Mark’s Cemetery in Kennedy following the mass.
In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in Leonarda’s name to the Sto-Rox School District, where she practiced her craft with skill and devotion.
