Jeffry (Jeff) Rhys Price died of natural causes while being treated for several health conditions.
Jeff was predeceased by his parents, Laurabel Scott Price and John R. Price and his first wife, Neva Price. Jeff is survived by his wife, Beverly Price of Pittsburgh, PA, sons Christopher Price of Philadelphia, PA, Brett Price (Ruth) of Falmouth, ME, and Nathan Price of Cana, VA; grandsons Charlie, Ari, and Ulee. In addition, he leaves behind stepson Trey Easley (Angie) of Nokesville, VA and step granddaughters Adalynne Neva and Corinne Elisa.
Also surviving him are his stepchildren Charles Miller (Jina) of Manassas, VA, Rachel Swalga (Jason) of Pittsburgh, PA and step-granddaughters Summer, Scarlett, and Lana. Also left to cherish his memory are his sisters Pam Price White-Brown (Don) of Winston-Salem, NC, Karen Price Howard of Atlanta, GA, Paula Price Crotts (Rick) of Phoenix, AZ, and Jenifer Price Singleton of Salem, VA. Jeff had numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and two great-great nieces with whom he loved to have fun. Jeff leaves behind a host of friends who enjoyed his company and his great laugh over the years.
Jeff was born in Caversham, England where his family was living due to his father’s employment. He was the third child born in the family and the only son. When Jeff was three years old, the family returned to the United States to live and settled in Woodbridge, VA.
Jeff graduated from Woodbridge Senior High School in 1970 where he played basketball. After graduating, he went to work for the United States Postal Service where he spent his career. He was a postmaster in Cana, Virginia when he retired. Jeff was a huge supporter of and a volunteer for Special Olympics. He was also known for his expertise at playing various card games.
Jeff and Beverly moved from Cana, VA to Pittsburgh, PA in 2022 to be nearer to family. They became members of the Coraopolis Methodist Church.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held in Woodbridge, VA in mid-July.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Special Olympics may be made in Jeff’s memory.
