James Gregory DeGori

James Gregory DeGori, lost his battle with cancer on July 1, 2026 at the age of 78.  Born on May 22, 1948, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Jim was the beloved son of Alice DeGori and Norman DeGori.

A proud graduate of Quaker Valley High School's Class of 1966, Jim began a long and distinguished career in the airline industry in 1967 with Mohawk Airlines. Through decades of dedication and hard work, he remained with the company as it evolved into Allegheny Airlines and later US Airways. After more than 35 years of service, Jim retired from US Airways at the age of 55, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and professionalism.

In addition to his civilian career, Jim honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1967 to 1973. He carried the values of service, discipline, and integrity throughout his life.

Jim was known for his mechanical talents and remarkable ability to fix just about anything. Family, friends, and neighbors often turned to him whenever something needed repair, knowing he would find a solution with patience, skill, and determination. He was truly the person everyone could count on.

A lifelong enthusiast of classic cars, Jim had a special love for Ford Mustangs and owned several throughout his life. He enjoyed attending car cruises, where he could share stories, admire beautiful vehicles, and spend time with many dear friends who shared his passion.

Above all else, Jim cherished his family. Whether spending time with his children, spoiling his grandchildren, or simply enjoying everyday moments with loved ones, family was the center of his life. Several years ago, Jim and his wife Susan made the move to South Carolina, to enjoy the next chapter of their life together.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Rae DeGori (née Tondreau); his children, James DeGori and wife Kari DeGori, Debra DeGori, Michael DeGori and husband Vincent Lane; his cherished grandchildren, Olivia DeGori, Ryan DeGori, and Johnathan Lane-DeGori and his brother, Anthony DeGori and wife Amy DeGori.

Jim lived a life marked by dedication, resilience, kindness, and an unwavering love for those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who have had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the values he instilled, and the memories that will forever be treasured by those who loved him.

Family and friends will be welcomed on Wednesday, July 8 from 4pm-7pm in the Sanvito Funeral Home, 1316 4th Ave., Coraopolis, PA.  At 4:00 pm on Wednesday, The Beaver County Special Unit will hold a Military Honors Ceremony. On Thursday morning, July 9 at 9:45 am, a prayer service will be held in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Divine Redeemer Parish, St. James Church, Sewickley.  Interment to follow in St. James Cemetery, Sewickley.
