Geraldine Marie (Lucci) DiVito of Coraopolis, PA. peacefully joined the Lord Jesus on June 6, 2020 at the age of 86. Geraldine, better known as “Gerry” by all was born at home in Coraopolis on January 13, 1934. She graduated from Coraopolis High School in 1952 where she sang in the chorus and operetta. She aspired to be a singer or artist and she continued both passions by singing in the choir at St. Joseph’s Church for 44 years and creating many painted ceramics over her lifetime. She never met a stranger, greeting everyone she encountered with warmth, joy and a little bit of that spicy side that made everyone laugh. She always enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners and watching PGH sports. Everyone recalls Gerry saying “I love my four boys”.
Geraldine was the wife of the late Giovanni “John” DiVito, daughter of the late Angeline (LaRocca) and Carlo Lucci. Mother of her “four boys”, Frank (Lisa), John (Cindy), Jeffrey and Steve. Beloved grandmother of Alisha (Rolando) Bello, Stephaney (Kevin) Aleksiejczyk, Aubrey (Danielle) DiVito and Alex DiVito. Great-grandmother of Jordan, Chase, Olivia and Owen. She is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews. Sister of Virginia Lucci, Vera Crugnale, Charles “Chuck” Lucci, the late Joann Gatta, Louis Lucci, Caroline Traud and Anne Aiello.
Family and friends will be welcomed on Thursday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Sanvito Funeral Home, 1316 4th Ave., Coraopolis. Prayers in the funeral home on Friday at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am, St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis. Interment to follow Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Township.
Memorial donations may be sent to The American Alzheimer’s Association. The DiVito family thanks the committed staff at Arden Courts of North Hills who compassionately cared for Gerry.
