Felicia L. Cianciarulo, Ph.D., born October 2, 1962, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Felix and Lovella Ciangiarulo, and life partner, David Bui.
Felicia began her Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania at the age of 20 in Microbiology, Genetics and Molecular Biology, leading to a distinguished career in teaching higher education (Carlow University, Duquesne University, CCAC, Mercy Hospital School of Nursing), research and business consulting.
“Dr. C.” retired as Professor Emeritus at Carlow University, after decades of teaching and fulfilling outstanding roles in faculty leadership. Her local/national/international presentations, research, and publications are too numerous to mention. In 2018, she was the recipient of the competitive Carlow University’s Dorothy Weber Cochran Research & Scholarship Award. In 2023, Felicia was honored with the Professional Excellence Award from her alma mater Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School (1980), for lifetime distinction in her profession. “Dr. C.” is now a shooting star, leaving behind in her shining traces, the multitude of nursing, medical professionals, and researchers she taught in her many classes. Her legacy is one of brilliance, compassion, and ethics, in true OLSH tradition.
As an only child, family and friends meant everything in her life. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, fishing, and baking cookies. She was solid in her faith, a compassionate caretaker for Uncle Louie, her mother, her father, and for David. She now is held in their loving arms. Felicia set a strong example for all of us - she looked death in the face and continued to live strong. Cancer may have taken her life, but never her spirit. She is survived by extended family and devoted friends, especially Bob Monks. She was a gift to all who knew her. Special thanks go to Nancy Wojtaszek, for her unselfish devotion to Felicia’s needs at home.
Family and friends will be welcomed on Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 2-7 PM in the Sanvito Funeral Home, 1650 Broadway, Stowe/Kennedy Township. A Blessing Service will take place on Friday morning at 10 AM in the funeral home. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Township.
