Ezio Vitucci Obituary

Ezio Vitucci, of Coraopolis, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the age of 77.  He was born in Pacentro, Italy and was the son of the late Rocco Vitucci and Concetta Ciccone.  Ezio immigrated to America in 1967 at the age of 20, arriving in Fresno, California where his two sisters Anna DiCicco and Pia Elisa Cercone had arrived years earlier.  From there, he traveled to Coraopolis in 1969 to visit his other sister, LiLiana Celeste.  That visit ended up becoming the next chapter in life.  1970 was a big year for Ezio, he got married, had his first daughter Connie and started working at RB&W.  In 1972, he welcomed his second daughter Pamela and bought his first home.  By 1976, he welcomed his third child, a son David.  Ezio's life took a turn in the late 1970's with a divorce, however, by 1978 he met his future lifetime partner, Marian aka Snooky.   Ezio remained with RB&W until the Coraopolis plant closed in 2002.  From there, bored with a forced retirement, he went to work for the Pittsburgh International Airport "cleaning the escalators" as he liked to say for the next 20 years.  In his younger years, he was an avid bowler at Corpen Lanes (nka Paradise Island Bowl), and Kennedy Lanes, usually on Thursday nights.  He enjoyed his late night poker sessions with his pals, oftentimes dragging three young kids with him to the wee hours of the morning.  He enjoyed dancing at the clubs, company picnics, going on vacations to California, Canada, Italy and Virginia Beach.  Always with a camera in his hand, he had hundreds of pictures detailing it all.  One of his proudest moments was when he was able to take each of his children to Italy to see his hometown of Pacentro.  When they graduated high school it was his graduation gift to them and he spoke of it often up until the end.   Despite all of his travels, his favorite destination was Las Vegas.  If anyone knows Ezio, his love for playing numbers, going to the casinos, bus trips and going to Vegas were highlights in his life.  He loved his extended family in California, Canada and Italy.  He looked forward to the Christmas photo cards, wedding announcements, birth announcements and saved each and every one of them and displayed them year round in his home.  In his later years, he walked two daughters down the aisle, welcomed three grandchildren, and buried a son, the latter breaking his heart.  After his retirement, the Coraopolis McDonald's became his new hangout.  He had a great group of friends who would meet up daily.  He went to Mass every Sunday, always standing in the back.  His funny, witty, generous and argumentative personality will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, co-workers, bank employees, casino workers and anyone that knew him or saw him on the daily.

Ezio is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Marian Soroka, his daughters, Connie Vitucci Giammarco, Pamela Vitucci Bussey and her fiance James Terago, the late David Vitucci, his grandchildren, Beyla Vitucci and her fiance William Was, Stephen Giammarco, Anna Vitucci and his sister Pia Elisa Cercone of California, as well as his many and much loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends will be welcomed on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 1-6 PM in the Sanvito Funeral Home, 1316 4th Ave., Coraopolis.  A prayer service will be held Monday morning at 9:30 AM in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis. Private interment.
