Elsie Jane Regotti Java left this world for another on December 23, 2020 at the age of 93, just 5 days shy of her 94th birthday. She wanted it known that she loved people. She greeted everyone she met with a smile.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Java, the love of her life, who she was married to for 50 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents Ben and Amelia Regotti, her older brother Alfred (Irene) Regotti, nephews Tom and Joe Regotti, brother-in-law John Shost, nephew John Shost Jr., and brother-in-law Nick Java.
She was a devout Catholic and lifelong member of St Joseph Church. She served as President of Christian Mothers twice, once as Treasurer, and also served on the Board of the Catholic Daughters of America. She held many jobs and loved them all from waitress at Flemings restaurant, welder at the shipyards during the war, operator for Bell telephone, shoe salesman, retail at The National Men’s Store and Village shop, and food preparer at The Sauce Pot.
She lived in Moon Twp for the past 16 years but always considered the house on 7th Ave in Coraopolis as home where she had Thanksgiving dinners, card games, and social gatherings. No one left her house without a slice of pie or a piece of cake.
She is survived by her son Frank Java, daughter Karen (John) Davis, grandsons Nicholas and Jonathan Davis, great grandson Colten Davis, sisters Pauline Shost and Dorothy (Leon) Work, brother Donald (Pam) Regotti and many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Family and friends will be welcomed in the Sanvito Funeral Home 1316 4th Ave Coraopolis on Sunday January 10th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. On Monday, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Joseph Church at 10 am with Father Richard Jones officiating. Internment to follow at St Joseph Cemetery.
As per PA Department of Health, please wear a mask and practice social distancing to ensure everyone's safety.
