It is with profound love and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Danny, who passed unexpectedly on June 15, 2026 at the age of 30.
Danny was born on February 27, 1996 in Newark, Delaware. He graduated from William Penn High School where he enjoyed playing varsity football. Danny brought joy, laughter and light into the lives of everyone who knew him. He had a light that brightened every room and a heart that loved everyone.
Danny was a United States Air Force Veteran, a mason and a man of many talents and skills. At the time of his passing, he was working for Grossi Construction and UPS as a K-Loader. He loved playing pool and any time he could spend with his friends and family. He will be remembered for his heart, his love of family and friends, his loyalty and most of all his beautiful spirit.
Danny is survived by his parents, Daniel T. McVey, Sr. (Sandra) and Jaqueline Lucarelli (George); his siblings, Kristen McVey, Branden McVey, Elexis McVey, and Nicholas Lucarelli; his nephews Jayden McVey and Shaun Willis and niece, Elliana Willis will forever remember their beloved Uncle Danny; his grandparents, Bruce and Donna Dacey, Margaret Michini, George and Anna Marie Kisak and predeceased by Rueben and Phyllis McVey and many other family members and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
A celebration of Danny’s life will be held on July 8, 2026 at Stano & Feely Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702, beginning at 10AM-12PM with service to follow and Presentation of Military Colors at the Bear Veteran’s Cemetery. All who loved Danny are welcome to attend and share memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to any Veteran Support. Danny would have wanted support for his fellow brothers and sisters in arms.
Danny’s time with us was far too short, but the love he gave will last forever
