Barabara Grimm Steinmetz, daughter of the late Leroy and Vivian Grimm, was born on January, 25th 1942 in Leechburg Township of Westmorland, PA. She completed her earthly journey, after a season of illness, on April 17, 2024.
Barbara attended the local elementary and middle schools, and although a shy student made friends of some of the neighborhood children. She grew up in the Pennsylvania community and graduated from Moon Township High School.
Barbara’s Sister was friends with a young lady who had a brother that owned a printing press business. He needed a staff member to help him with his business. Barbara’s Sister told her about the printing press job opportunity so Barbara went to interview for the job and got it. The young gentleman’s name was Starre Steinmetz and he was the owner of the printing business.
Barbara and Starre got to know each other and later he asked her on a date. They fell in love after one date and were engaged. They were married shortly after the engagement in 1967. They were married 51 years when Starre passed away.
Starre and Barbara were well known for their church work. They travelled together singing, teaching the bible, visiting the sick, and praying for people. They were true Christian believers. They believed the word of God and they tried to live it.
They lived together most of their marriage on Hooks Town Grade RD in PA. Later, they moved to the Senior Towers in Coraopolis, PA because Barabara’s husband retired. After Barbara got sick, she and her husband moved to Middle River, MD with their nephew and niece, Bryan and Linda Steinmetz. Barbara later was moved to North Point Future Care Assistant Living Facility.
Barbara was very crafty and enjoyed crocheting and needle work with her mom and Sister. She was very good at many other hobbies like scrapbooking and art
