On January 4, 2024 Barbara (Finnegan) Mollica passed away at the age of 83. Barbara and her husband Lawrence were long-time residents of Kennedy Township and were members of Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. In recent years, they moved to New Castle and became members of Saint Vitus Catholic Church. Barbara was born in Phillipsburg, PA and was raised in Ambridge, where she met the love of her life Lawrence "Larry" Mollica. They married in 1959, Barbara at the tender age of 19, and were married for 64 years at the time of Barbara's passing. Barb and Larry had three children, 5 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She is survived by her husband Lawrence, daughters Lainie (Mollica) Stinner and Lauren (Mollica) Lynch, and grandchildren Raymond Mollica, Tyler Hughes, and Ian Stinner. Barbara was preceded in death by her son Lawrence Mollica, and grandchildren Lawrence Mollica and Alaina Hughes. Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Those who knew her were amazed by her ability to accomplish any task or master any skill such as cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting and even reupholstering a car. Her family was the focus of her life and she will be sorely missed.
Family and friends will be welcomed on Sunday, January 7, 2023 from 2 - 8 PM in the Sanvito Funeral Home, 1650 Broadway, Stowe/Kennedy Township. A blessing service will take place in the funeral home on Monday morning at 10 AM, followed by interment at St. Mark's Cemetery, Kennedy Township.
