Janet Gould Obituary

Janet Mae Gould, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the age of 90.

Ms. Gould was born on June 11, 1927, in New Castle, PA, to the late William Gould and Ethel Bell McCracken. She attended New Castle High School. Janet was a warship welder in Ambridge, PA during World War II and at the age of 55 graduated from nursing school. She worked as a nurse at the Wexford Nursing Home where she retired at 78 years old. Janet was surrounded by her loving family daily. She loved taking care of her rose garden, baking (especially her special chocolate chip cookies) and above all spending time with her family.

Ms. Gould is preceded in death by her husband Stanley John Bajek; her daughter Geraldine Whalen; and her sisters, June Locke, Donna Bell Burnside, Melda Roof and Sis Gould. Ms. Gould is survived by her brother, William Gould of New Castle, PA; daughter Joanne Perretta Bajek, of Hookstown, PA; her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Patricia Bajek, of Hookstown, PA; her 11 grandchildren, William C. Perretta, of South Carolina, Rachel (Adam Clark) Donnelly, of New Castle, PA, Janette (Dave) Hylinski, of South Carolina, Jordan (Julianne) Perretta, of Maryland, Jason (Lindsay) Bajek, of Washington, PA, Matthew Bajek, of Hookstown, PA, Brandon (Bridgett) Bajek, of Burgettstown, PA, Regis Whalen, of California, Kellie Ierma, of California, Sean (Courtney) Cann, of California, and Mike (Melissa) Whalen, of Arizona; and her 18 great-grandchildren, Samuel and Abigail Perretta, Aiden Sheffler and Liam Donnelly, Jake and Joey Hylinski, Layla and Eva Bajek, Patricia and Morgan Whalen, Eric Whalen and Ashley Ierma, Justin, Sean, Thomas, and Nicolas Cann, and Mike and Makenzie Whalen.

The family will be having a private family gathering in remembrance of her life.

The Anthony J. Sanvito Inc. Funeral Home, 1316 Fourth Avenue, Coraopolis, is in charge of arrangements.
